06 Scenic View

The very famous scenic view of Gabicce Monte is one of the favourite spots of the local cyclists because of it’s spectacular landscape that extends from the hills until the sea sheer cliffs, because it’s situated along wide quiet roads and also because of the excitement that the 85 km route gives thanks to the wonderful and unexpected glimpses on the sea.

Starting always from the Ferretti Hotel of Rimini the route continues on the Statale Adriatica road passing through Riccione, Misano Adriatico and Cattolica.
It’s advisable to start early to avoid the morning traffic, otherwise you can opt for the route that goes along the seafront up to Cattolica..

Because the first part of the route is on flat land you will have the possibility to warm-up with a dynamic cycle ride. After Cattolica the Statale road widens and the first gentle slopes start to appear up to Siligata were the road goes up hill perpetually for around two Km. From the mountain pass the route goes downhill providing a fast ride that reaches Pesaro.

After going through a section of the city just before the small bridge of Pesaro we will turn left following the signs for the ‘Panoramica’ (scenic view) and Gabicce Monte.Here the steep climb starts going through two hairpin bends. The road is very beautiful surrounded by thick vegetation and if you have lots of strength you will be able to use all your energy climbing up the hill and their constant rise; after a few Km on your right you will be able to get a glimpse of the sea while entering the national park of San Bartolo.

The next town will be Fiorenzuola of Focara were you will be able to fill your water bottles at the fountain situated in the city centre, enjoy the wonderful landscape and also order an espresso coffee at the bar.

After the technical break the journey continues heading towards Gabicce Monte were you will be able to face downhill and uphill slopes reaching up to the highest point (Gabicce Mare) and then going quickly downhill in order to reach again the Statale road.

To go back to the Hotel from here it will take only 40 minutes because the Statale road for Riccione goes gently downhill even if you will always have to be aware of the traffic.
